The bill entitled Testing for Lead in Schools (2017) requires all Illinois schools built before January 1, 2000 (Pre-K through 5th Grade) to test for lead in water used for drinking and cooking. Samples from each potable (water that is safe to drink or use in cooking) water source in the K-5 Building and the Lyceum? 37 in all ? were collected by Ideal Environmental in April and tested by Prairie Analytical Systems in Springfield.
