Parent-Student Lunch Day
Parent-Student Lunch Day is Thursday Feb. 2nd.   This year we will have a new lunch option/fund raiser.  Parents may pick up lunch at Jimmy John's in Normal and bring it to school.  Jimmy John's will donate 20% of the proceeds to Epiphany.  Just mention you are from Epiphany when ordering.  Please like the event on Facebook and share with friends that you are going or interested in the event.    Thanks.

Scholastic Bowl
Attention 7th and 8th graders: Do you know the name of the first female Secretary of State?  The musical which featured the character Amber Von Tussle?  The constellation that contains the Big Dipper?  How about the Greek person who stole fire to give to mankind?  Or, maybe you know the blanket term to describe a strong, central government based on democracy and utilized by both national and state-based governments?  If you do, or you just want to find out, the Scholastic Bowl team is for you!

The Scholastic Bowl team is getting ready to kick off their 2017 season.  Practices are held every Wednesday from 3:15-4:30 in Mrs. Angel's room and start Wednesday, February 1st.  We will have a required parents meeting on Feb 8th at 4:30.  We'll have around 10 matches that start February 9th and run until mid to late April.

If you still aren't sure if SB is for you.....just come to the first practice to check it out! We will play some games and talk about what to expect in matches. Questions can be directed to Melissa Manness at manness@frontiernet.net or Jennifer Deighan at dwknappjr@msn.com.  Looking forward to an exciting season!

Science Fair Judges Needed
Epiphany Catholic School will be hosting an 8th Grade Science Fair on February 16, 2017.  We are looking for judges for the event.  If you work in a field of science or enjoy the study of science, please consider volunteering as a judge at our school science fair. The judging will take place from approximately 8:30 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. This opportunity is open to school and parish adults over 18 years old.  If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please contact Mrs. Barbara Hunter at barbara.hunter@epiphanyschools.org by January 18, 2017.
Rainbows Program starting in February 2017
Epiphany Catholic School will be offering the Rainbows program for school and parish students who are experiencing grief from a divorce, or loss of a parent through death, deployment or incarceration. Information about the Rainbows program can be found on their website: www.rainbows.org. This is a grief support group and should not replace any type of professional counseling.

There will be a parent meeting in January for those interested in having their children attend Rainbows. At that meeting, parents can meet the facilitators, Kari Becker, Sarah Czarnecki, Jennifer Coppersmith, Jennifer Friedmann, Jennifer Havens and Julie Lohr. and get an outline of the topics that will be discussed.  The Rainbows sessions will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15-4:30 in the Epiphany Elementary School Building. The sessions will meet weekly when school is in session from February through March. There is no cost for the students to attend this program. If you have any questions or would like to sign up your child(ren), please contact Karen Overby at: Karen.overby@epiphanyschools.org.

SIT Conference
The Students Involved with Technology (SIT) Conference will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Heartland Community College. The technology conference is by students and for students in grades 3-12, which means students may be a presenter or an attendee. Last year, there were 12 students from Epiphany who attended and 5 of them presented.
If you would like to be a presenter, please contact Mrs. Olson at jane.olson@epiphanyschools.org. The registration deadline is January 20 or when the conference is full. Sign up early to reserve a spot!
Renew, Recycle, Reinvent
You can call it Eco-friendly or you just say they were being green, but the 8th Grade Girls Art Class has refurbished recycled materials into wearable items and have displayed them in the 2016 Fashion Show. Take a look at the show and some of the behind scenes. To view the video click here then go to 'Files' - 8th Grade Fashion Show.
School Family Adoration Time
One-half hour signups between 11am-12pm Sundays are available for school family adoration time. Many blessings and spiritual gifts can be found by spending time with Our Lord.   If you have never tried, this is a perfect opportunity.  During family time, the chapel does not need to be quiet; it’s only a half an hour and all the info you need is on the sign-up sheet.  Please consider receiving life/family blessings by signing up between 11am and 12pm this Sunday and in the future.

Click here to sign up. If you have any questions, please contact Jeanie Phipps at 309-838-0572.
